Heifer, Please! — Heifer Bark

The host

Ms. Emsley

Ms. Emsley is the host of Heifer, Please! podcast, a warm, wise, quick-witted storyteller who believes the best advice usually comes with a laugh and a full glass of sweet tea.

Welcome to the front porch.

I'm Ms. Emsley, a fifth-generation Texas storyteller, grandmother, animal lover, recovering corporate professional, and firm believer that life gives us enough reasons to cry, so we might as well laugh whenever we can.

Around here, we tell true stories, or stories that are true enough. Names might be changed, details occasionally stretched, and a little Southern embellishment may sneak in from time to time, but the heart of every story is real.

So grab yourself a glass of sweet tea, pull up a rocking chair, and remember,

Not Today, Heifer.

The mission

To make people feel less alone, more understood, and just a little more entertained than they were before they showed up. This is a porch for real talk, funny stories, and Southern hospitality, where kindness and honesty always sit at the same table.

Why "Heifer, Please!"

Because sometimes the truth needs a little Southern seasoning to go down easier. And because "Heifer, please" is what a good friend says right before she tells you exactly what you need to hear.

The rules of the porch

  • 1. Humor targets foolish behavior, never the person.
  • 2. Everyone gets a chair.
  • 3. There is always more tea.
  • 4. What's said here is said in love. Even the sass.
